Driverless technology is becoming less and less impossible with every passing day. The Toyota Research Institute (TRI) released a video demonstrating how its Autonomous Vehicle Platform 2.1 works. It demonstrates a fully automated Chauffeur mode; where the vehicle is in complete control of driving itself, and Guardian mode; where the driver operates the vehicle themselves and the platform aids and assists to protect the driver and their passengers. Earlier this year, U.S. News & World Report announced that the 2017 Toyota Highlander Hybrid was their choice for "Best Hybrid SUV" in their "2017 Best Cars for Families" awards. The awards recognize vehicles that offer the features demanded by modern families, and the editors particularly commended the Highlander Hybrid for that way that the advanced rearview camera and parking systems assist in making parking a less challenging task.
