Toyota Hybrids

Saving money. Saving the environment. Getting more distance between stops on long trips. No matter what angle you're coming from, hybrid vehicles have made a major impact on the motoring public. Combining electric and gasoline power, they make for a vehicle that is comfortable, efficient, yet still has the response and power of a traditional gas-powered vehicle. And if you look around Johnstons Toyota in New Hampton, you'll see that no carmaker has done a better job of providing an excellent roster of hybrid vehicles than Toyota.
2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid
An all-around winner, at home on the busy streets of Middletown or taking the long, windy roads down to New Milford, it doesn't get much better than the 2018 Toyota Camry. At 51 MPG city and 53 MPG highway, it provides the best fuel efficiency of any large car, hybrid or non-hybrid. Agile handling and excellent ride quality make for a family sedan that is also destined to impress your boss.
What makes it even better is Toyota's devotion to standardizing safety. The Toyota Safety Sense P suite is standard on every Camry Hybrid, and includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, and Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. In fact, it's standard on every hybrid vehicle Toyota makes except for the Prius c, which receives a city-centered version. Hybrid isn't just about keeping the environment safe.

2019 Toyota Avalon Hybrid
Leather seating. Genuine wood interior trim. Soft ambient lighting. Acoustic glass to keep exterior noise outside. 18-inch alloy wheels. 43 MPG city and highway.
Unlike the early days of the hybrid, you don't have to forego luxury for efficiency, as the 2019 Toyota Avalon demonstrates. Spacious seats offer room for even the tallest adults, while dual-zone automatic climate control with humidity sensor offers comfort. The standard Entune 3.0 Audio Plus system features class leading infotainment on a nine-inch touchscreen, with the option to upgrade to JBL speakers including a subwoofer and amplifier. QI-compatible wireless smartphone charging ensures you'll always be in touch on the road.

2018 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

Reliable and roomy, yet on a compact footprint, the 2018 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is the perfect example of the modern crossover. From room for five full-sized adults to take a trip down to the Newburgh Brewing Company, to up to 70.6 cubic feet of cargo space for a load of mulch from the Middletown Lowe's, the RAV4 is a veritable Swiss Army Knife for the modern driver.
For the stylish, the top-of-the-line Limited brings upgraded SofTex upholstery and leather trim. For the outdoorsy, add on accessories like all-weather floor liners and roof rack crossbars for kayaks and skis to the robust LE and XLE models. Either way, you'll always be getting 34 MPG city and 30 MPG highway wherever the road - or trail - may take you.

2018 Toyota Highlander Hybrid

Maximizing carrying capacity and fuel efficiency at the same time, the 2018 Toyota Highlander Hybrid is the perfect vehicle to haul the family down to the Hudson in Newburgh and Washington Heights, to Mount Peter down near New Milford, or just to soccer practice around Goshen. You get the same seating for up to eight people as you do in the standard Highlander, and the same roomy cargo hold that can swallow up to 83.7 cubic feet of goods.
Even though it's a hybrid, the 2018 Highlander Hybrid doesn't sacrifice much in the way of towing to get up to 30 MPG city and 28 MPG highway. It still can tow up to 3,500 pounds, enough for small watercraft and small trailers.

2018 Toyota Prius Hybrid
You can't talk about hybrid vehicles without talking about the one that showed just how viable hybrids can be: the Toyota Prius. Now available in three distinct flavors - the Prius, the Prius Prime, and the Prius c - it still provides class-leading efficiency.
  • Leave hybrid driving behind with the 2018 Toyota Prius Prime. With multiple drive modes and charging from a standard household outlet, the Prime can operate as a purely-electric vehicle in EV Mode, an optimized hybrid in HV Mode, or condition- and demand-based power in the EV Auto Mode that can switch between pure electric and hybrid power. As a hybrid, you'll enjoy 55 MPG city and 53 MPG highway. As an EV, you get up to 25 miles on a full charge - plenty to run errands around Goshen in full-electric mode without having to worry about making it home. The best of both worlds.
  • Dealing with small parking spots in Washington Heights, or need to travel into the Big Apple on a regular basis? The tiny 2018 Toyota Prius c hatchback is the hybrid city car. Only 100 inches in length, it can squeeze where it needs to, while providing leg and head room that is still reasonable for a grown adult. All the while, it will get you up to 48 MPG city and 43 MPG highway.
  • Finally, the car that started the revolution. Still going strong, the 2018 Toyota Prius stays on top of its game with updates styling and cutting-edge technology. Six different trim levels and numerous packages make it one of the most customizable hybrids on the market, while squeezing up to 27.4 cubic feet of storage into a compact footprint. All the while, it gets you up to 54 miles per gallon around town and 50 miles per gallon on the highway.

While almost every carmaker has one or two hybrids, only Toyota has been committed enough to offer an entire line-up, from compact car to full-size sport utility, as hybrids. U.S. News and World Report named 3 Toyota hybrids - the RAV4, the Avalon, and the Camry - to its 10 Best Hybrid Cars for the Money, including the Camry as the number one vehicle on the list. Stop in to Johnstons Toyota in New Hampton, conveniently located minutes away from Middletown and Goshen, to see the best hybrid line-up available from any carmaker!
